Crerax Microspheres are thermoplastic hollow polymer spheres composed of a thermoplastic polymer shell encapsulating a blowing agent. When heated, the shell softens and the internal pressure increases dramatically, causing the microspheres to expand to 80–100 times their original volume. Their extremely low density after expansion makes them an ideal lightweight filler and blowing agent for materials such as plastics and rubber.
In the field of artificial marble/bathroom vanity tops, the application of Crerax Microspheres enables the production of lightweight products, significantly enhancing overall texture while meeting the core demands of green manufacturing and sustainable development in the industry.
Crerax Microspheres provide five key functions in artificial marble:
Lightweighting: The use of Crerax Microspheres directly contributes to the lightweighting of artificial marble and bathroom vanity tops.
Thermal and Shock Resistance: Crerax Microspheres also function as an impact modifier. Their addition enhances the resistance of artificial marble to repeated thermal cycling.
Improved Yield Rate: The elastic nature of Crerax Microspheres effectively mitigates reaction exotherm and cooling stress during the curing process, significantly reducing crack formation.
Enhanced Processability: Artificial marble and bathroom products containing Crerax Microspheres are easier to cut, polish, and drill. They also considerably extend the service life of processing tools.
Reduced Overall Cost: The hollow spherical structure of Crerax Microspheres reduces the total amount of resin required. Scientific formulation design enables simultaneous weight reduction and cost savings.
